Okay, so I decided to do this thing where I wouldn’t wear any green for, like, a whole week. It sounded easy at first, but trust me, it got me thinking way more than I expected.
First, I went through my closet. That was day one. I was pretty surprised by how much green I actually owned! There were a few t-shirts, a cozy sweater I love, and even some socks with little green stripes. I pulled all the green stuff out and shoved it in a separate drawer. Kind of felt like I was betraying a friend, haha.
- Day 1: Closet purge! Green exiled.
- Day 2: Realized my favorite sweater is green. Sadness.
- Day 3: Almost wore green socks by accident. Crisis averted!
Then came the actual wearing of clothes. I started picking outfits, and it was…weird. I felt a little limited, like I was missing a part of my usual options. I normally don’t even think about colors that much, but suddenly, the absence of green was this big thing in my head.
The “Why” Behind It
I started to notice that I often reach for green when I want to feel calm or grounded. Maybe it’s because it reminds me of nature? I don’t know. But without green, I felt a tiny bit…off. Like I was trying to solve a puzzle with a missing piece.
It wasn’t all bad, though. I forced myself to wear other colors I usually ignore. I found a bright yellow shirt I’d forgotten about, and it actually made me feel pretty good. So, that was a win!

By the end of the week, I was honestly kind of glad to have my green clothes back. But, it was a cool experiment. It made me think about how colors can affect my mood and how even small changes in my routine can make a difference. I even tried to get my friend to exclude the color, but he refused because it’s his favorite!
I’m not sure I’d do it again, but it was definitely an interesting experience to note down.
