Alright, so, I’ve been digging into this whole Coast Psychological Services thing, and let me tell you, it’s been quite a journey. Started off just poking around, you know, seeing what’s out there in terms of mental health support. I mean, who hasn’t felt like they could use a little help sometimes? So I figured, why not explore this area?
First thing I did was hit up the internet, just to get a feel for what Coast Psychological Services is all about. Their website popped up, looked pretty legit. They talk a lot about how they help folks with therapy and counseling. I felt that I should take some time to make a deep investigation of it.
Next, I started reading about the team. This Dr. Liana Georgoulis seemed like the head honcho. The website has some info about the clinicians and the stuff they work on, like perinatal mental health, depression, anxiety…the whole nine yards. I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through all of that.
Then came the real work. I decided to actually reach out, see what it takes to get an appointment. I mean I have to try it, right? Filled out their contact form, a bit nervous, not gonna lie. But hey, gotta push through that, right? They mentioned a 15-minute consultation, so I figured that’s a good first step. It could get my foot in the door. I jotted down some questions I wanted to ask, just to be prepared.
While waiting to hear back, I dove into some more research. Found out that they’re based in Los Angeles. Makes sense, it’s a big city, lots of people probably needing these kinds of services. I also looked up some of the therapies they offer, like cognitive behavioral therapy. Sounded interesting. I even read up on what to expect during the first session. They said it’s mostly about getting to know you.
- Reached out: Sent that initial inquiry.
- Researched: Dug deeper into their services and background.
- Prepared: Got my questions ready for the consultation.
- Reflected: Thought about what I wanted to get out of this.
And you know what? It got me thinking about my own mental health. When you’re researching this stuff, it’s hard not to. Realized that maybe I could benefit from talking to someone, too. I mean, I do exercise, I eat my vegetables, and I sleep well. But talking with others is also a good way, isn’t it?
I finally heard back from Coast. I scheduled that consultation call. When the day came, I was ready. I had my list of questions, and an open mind. We talked for about 15 minutes, just like they said. It was a good conversation. I felt heard, which is important. They explained how they work, what I could expect, and all that jazz.
Now, here’s where things got interesting. After that call, I decided to go for it. Booked my first real appointment. Felt like a big step, but a good one. I was finally taking action on something I’d been thinking about for a while.
The First Session
So, I had my first session. It was…different. Not what I expected, but in a good way. We just talked. They asked me a bunch of questions, got to know me better. I shared some of my struggles, things I’d been dealing with. It felt good to get it all out there.
And that’s where I’m at now. I’ve had a few sessions, and it’s been helpful. I’m learning a lot about myself, about how to handle things better. It’s not a quick fix, you know? It’s a process. But I’m committed to it. I’m seeing the value in taking care of my mental health, just like I do with my physical health.
This whole experience has taught me a lot. It’s shown me that it’s okay to ask for help, that there are people out there who can support you. And it’s made me realize how important it is to take care of your mind, not just your body. It’s all connected, right?
