Today, I got into this thing called Tarot cards. Specifically, I messed around with card number 9, “The Hermit.” It’s a Major Arcana card, you know? So, I grabbed my deck and started shuffling, just to see what would happen.
First, I just pulled the card out and looked at it. A dude standing on a mountain, holding a lantern and a staff. Kinda lonely, right? I flipped through the little booklet that came with the deck, and it said this card is all about introspection and finding your inner light.
Diving Deeper
I didn’t stop there. I laid out a simple three-card spread – past, present, future. The Hermit showed up in the “present” position. Made me think, am I isolating myself too much? I mean, I’ve been working from home a lot lately.
- Past: The Lovers. Interesting, relationships maybe.
- Present: The Hermit. Oh, the moment of loneliness, soul-searching.
- Future: The Chariot. Seems like some victory or achievement will come to pass.
Then I decided to try another spread – the Celtic Cross. It’s a bit more complicated, with ten cards. Each card has a different meaning, like “hopes and fears” or “outcome.” It’s a whole thing. This time, The Hermit appeared in the “environment” position. Maybe it means people around me are feeling distant, or maybe I’m projecting that vibe.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just jotting down notes about each spread. What did the cards make me feel? What did they remind me of? It was kinda like journaling, but with pictures. It was actually pretty therapeutic, not gonna lie.
After all that, I felt like I had a better handle on what The Hermit represents. It’s not just about being alone; it’s about taking time to reflect and recharge. And maybe, just maybe, it’s a sign that I need to step out of my cave and reconnect with the world a bit more. I put away my cards, feeling a little more enlightened. Who knew a simple card could make you think so much?
