Okay, so I was messing around with crossword puzzles the other day, you know, just killing time. And I hit this clue: “tarot.” I’m not super into tarot, but I know the basics. So I’m thinking, okay, what could it be?
My first thought was, “Well, duh, it’s probably just ‘CARD’.” It’s the most obvious answer, right? Tarot cards are, well, cards. So I tried plugging that in. Nope. Too short. The clue had space for five letters.
Trying Things Out
Then I started brainstorming other words associated with tarot. I grabbed a pen and paper and just started scribbling:
- MAJOR (Like the Major Arcana? But that word’s too long)
- MINOR(Same issues at Major)
- SUITS (Nope, that’s not right, either.)
- DEATH (A little morbid for the crossword, is not it?)
- WANDS, CUPS, SWORDS, PENTACLES(too long)
I also start to google some crossword clue websites, just to be safe. Type “tarot crossword clue 5 letters” into the search bar.
And then, after looking at my notes and checking the crossings, I got it! The answer was “ARCANA”.
I input “ARCANA” into the space, it fits perfectly.
Felt pretty good figuring that one out. It’s funny how sometimes the answer is right there, but you just need to think around it a bit. Crosswords are a good way to keep the brain ticking, I guess!
