Okay, so I’ve been seeing “Tarot de los Angeles” pop up everywhere lately, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not usually one for this kind of thing, but I was curious. So, I started by just, you know, looking it up online, to see what all the fuss was about.
First, I tried to find a good deck. There are tons of options out there, so I spent some time browsing images and reading reviews to find one that I liked. I found that some decks really focused on super traditional imagery, and others were a little more modern and abstract. I finally settled on one that felt, I don’t know, right. It had pretty pictures, but it also felt kind of…grounded, I guess?
Next, I needed to learn how to actually use the cards. I’m a total beginner, so I started with a basic three-card spread—you know, past, present, future. I found some websites and stuff that explained the meanings of the individual cards, and some sample spreads to interpret.
- Shuffled the deck, really focusing on what I wanted to know.
- Laid out three cards face down.
- Flipped them over one by one, trying to make sense of it all.
My First Reading…Kind of Confusing!
Honestly, my first try was a bit of a mess. I got the gist of each card individually, but figuring out how they connected to each other, and to my question…that was hard! I felt like I was missing something. But it’s practice, right?
So, I kept at it. I did a few more readings over the next few days, looking up the card meanings each time and writing down my interpretations. It’s slowly starting to make more sense.I even tried a slightly more complicated spread, a five-card one, and that felt a bit more… revealing, I guess. It’s still all a bit fuzzy, but it’s definitely getting more interesting. I feel like the key is lots of practice and repetition. And maybe finding a good book on the subject!
